5/27/02 at 5 pm: NPR's double standards against Jewish victims of Arab terror
To: bdrake@NPR.ORG, jydstie@NPR.ORG, atc@NPR.ORG, cflintoff@NPR.ORG, kklose@NPR.ORG
NPR reported that "two Israelis were killed" as a result of today's
bombing.
Why didn't you describe the victims as a 49 year old woman and an 18
month
old baby?(Grandmother with her grandoughter) Perhaps you should let your listeners also understand that
the
terrorist blew himself up in front of an ice cream stand.
You never fail to explicitly mention women and children Palestinians
who are
killed in violence.
Furthermore, since NPR referred multiply to Alabama Bombing Trial as
"terrorism of bigotry," since NPR refers to 9/11 as terrorists act and
the
perpetrators as "terrorists," since suicide hijackers of 9/11 were
terrorists, no less evil/no more evil than the terrorists who blow
themselves up in front of an ice cream stand - isn't it about time NPR
adopted the terminology of terrorist attacks or terrorist attempts when
Jews
are the victims?
