The "Arab street" has been trying to annihilate Israel ever since 1948, and they have used every means available to achieve that end, so who cares what they think? The fact is that Arafat is a terrorist and can no longer be allowed to participate in legitimate negotiations, because to allow that is to legitimize terrorism as a political strategy. The civilized world can no longer afford the luxury of ignoring this fact. If we do, we may as well cede the War on Terror to the terrorists.
