Bias
Miss.Ambrosine Botchin, LONDON 17 Jan 2002
Dear sir,
I felt that I must convey firstly my support for you and the strength that you are taking in communicating to make sure that the people and the Land of Israel is safe and secure.
However, I write to you in English, as an English citizen, and a Jewish person, that I am very concerned as to the lack of pro-Israeli responses, support for Israel and the total naivety as to regards to the news in our media, within the United Kingdom.
For me, I believe that not enough Jewish organizationshave a strong communication or public relations department that can deal withthe constant bias, and anti Jewish/Israeli feeling that has developed sinceSeptember 11th 2001, and also well before this particular tragicevent.
I am sure you are aware, that there are various news/mediaorganizations including the BBC, CNN and editorials within the United Kingdom who are totally Anti Israel, whatever happens within her borders, the media seem to side with the opposition.
It obviously seems that in some cases, these particular organizations have some sort of“financial” agreement whether aural or positive with the “enemy organizations”and the sickening bias that has become routine reporting everyday within the media.
I, as many others may be aware that the problem of anti-Israeli bias is getting much worse.
I particularly listen to a commercial talk radio station here in the London area, where the subject of the Palestinians and the Israeli conflict comes up regularly for a daily topic of conversation, (as if therearen’t other subjects of interest). I am always ringing in giving a pro-Israeli and correct argument as to what the Israelis have to deal with everyday as citizens, and I seem to have to justify this with others who believe that Israel are the "bad guys" and the "terrorists" suppressing the Palestinian people.
Not enough response for a pro Israel stance is ever put forward.
I am concerned that when the Jewish organizations within this country, when they are able to put their views forward, for example the publication s editor of "The Jewish Chronicle" that they are so "left wing" in their stance, that the whole Israeli point of view is left by the side, and the spokes persons of these organizations, never seem to be able to put a point of argument forward.
Most of the Jewish organizational charities here are also very left wing.
In retrospect they may as well not have spoken on behalf of the Israelis, as there argument is not strong or thought provoking enough.
I feel that there is not one true voice here in the United Kingdom that can be relied upon to come forward and make their mark, whenever there is a Crisis in the News that concerns Israel, and that there desperatel needs to be one area, one spokesperson, one office that deals specifically with these arguments.
We need a strong pro-Israeli/English representative, like Raanan Gisin or indeed yourself, who can come on every news bulletin concerning problems that occur and develop within Israel, immediately putting forward a correct, truthful and strong response to the anti-Israeli propaganda!
May I also take this opportunity to say that we need this fast, before any more damage is done. Their will never be a fully pro-Israeli feeling in this country, as the British citizens always side with the strong points of view for the Arab/Islamic supported media, and that is why I amwriting to you.
The only journalist worth his weight in pro-Israeli activity is a man named Peter Hitchins who writes a column in the Mail on Sunday.
Surely there are more? I sadly doubt it.
Please, will you take this letter as a communication of support, and more importantly trying to help your cause, and that of the “truth” that the British need to hear more often. We need a strong spokes person as soon as possible.
Please don’t let the Jewish British charities spoil the Israelis good, peace-loving name, by providing more Israeli bias when called upon to speak within the media.
Than you for you time.
With regards,
Miss.Ambrosine Botchin
