CNN strikes again

Just a few more ditties from the "CNN website biased reporting" file.

The headline describing the terrorist attack by a "Palestinian" which took place at a bus stop near Kfar Sava June 28th:

"Mideast bomb kills three."

As if the bomb assembled and detonated itself, and was not authored by a specific group, but rather was the offspring of the entire "Mideast". I'm not sure what "Mideast" refers to: do you ever see a headline like "European bomb kills three" or "Asian bomb kills three"? Could CNN make efforts to be a little more specific? "Mideast" covers a lot of territory.

A few paragraphs into the article, CNN establishes "Palestinian extremist groups claimed responsibility for both bombings". Gee, nice of CNN to finally mention it.

Conversely, the Israeli response was headlined:

"Israel attacks Palestinian targets"

This is an accurate sentence. CNN got it right here, but couldn't muster the journalistic impartiality and integrity to do so in the first byline.

And worse yet, in an article about the U.N. vote to send "observers" to the "West Bank" and "Gaza", CNN states:

"More than 400 people, almost all of them Palestinians, have been killed in six months of violence between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers."

Now CNN is very clever here. In direct clashes between "Palestinians and Israeli soldiers" in the "territories", the fatalities have overwhelmingly been on the Arab side. CNN, however, has chosen a rather limited and deceptive context. The killings committed by the "Palestinians" against Israeli soldiers and civilians in the last six months is topping 70, a rather meaty number, but not enough in comparison to the Arab casualties for CNN. I guess you have to be killed by the IDF to be considered dead. If you're blown up by a Muslim "martyr", shot in the head by a well trained sniper, or run over by a nut driving a bus, you just don't qualify. The "almost all" valuation of CNN is an incredible insult. Perhaps on the tombstones of the 70 dead Israelis should be written:

"You're dead, but really, almost all those killed in major clashes have been Palestinians, so get over it- your pal, Ted Turner".
