| The Defense of The State of Israel/UN Resolution Deborah Barnes 13 Mar 2002 Dear Former Prime Minister Netanyahu: The United Nations Security council resolution calling for an independent Palestinian state must be condemned and rejected outright by The State of Israel. According to The Hebrew Scriptures, The Lord God of Israel has given The Land of Israel to The People of Israel by an Everlasting Covenant (Psalm 105:8-11). This resolution would require us to nationally transgress This Covenant, which The Lord God of Israel Himself said He would not profane (Psalm 89:35). We must not allow the resolutions, plans, and initiatives of international bodies and parties to push us into this situation, thus forcing us to be unfaithful to This Everlasting Covenant. Again, this resolution must be condemned because "no weapon that is formed against us shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against us in judgment, we shall condemn" (Isaiah 54:17).
