| The importance of America Amir Rubin 9 July 2002 amir100@attglobal.net United states of America is the best thing that ever happened to the world. Since its beginning The U.S.A has contributed to the values of freedom and of human rights more than anything throughout history. It has promoted these values with the happiness and hope it allowed the American people, thus attracting millions of ambitious people from all over the world to America. It has also promoted these values, by the success in becoming the most powerful empire the world has ever seen, both economically and military. Its success made the American system of government a role model for people all over the world. It has promoted these values by being the crucial factor in the most important struggles in the 20th and 21st centuries against those reigns that hated the values of freedom and of human rights. But the U.S.A has peaked its achievements in promoting its values, by not being content with defeating these reigns and by showing its superiority, but by ensuring that the people that leaved under those reigns would be able to enjoy these values from its victory and on. U.S.A stayed in Germany and Japan for dozens of years forcing them to implement the values of freedom and human rights, thus making the people living their happier than ever. It has fought the Communist Soviet Union until it adopted the values that the U.S.A believes in and when it did the U.S.A immediately started helping the Russian people and other former soviet people. By doing so the U.S.A has become the moral leader of the world and gave hope for better life to billions of people that suffer living under totalitarian reigns. But even more than that, the U.S.A gives hope for billions living under the threat of these totalitarian reigns. Their hope for better, fearless and happier life comes from their knowledge that the U.S.A has the ability to change the totalitarian reigns with democratic ones and that it has used its ability before. Therefore they hope the U.S.A would decide to do it again. As an Israeli who loves and looks up to America, I hope that the U.S.A would implement its ability and repeat the wonderful things it did in nazi Germany and fascist Japan after WW2, in the totalitarian Arab countries, before they can threat Israel with mass destruction weapons. This is the greatest importance of the U.S.A not the great things it has done so far, but the great things it can and is expected to do today and in the future. Amir Rubin |
