| Israel has the moral
obligation and right to defend herself Kathy Shipp (15 August 2001) I watch as closely as I can what is happening in Israel -- much has happened since July 28th -- Not much is being reported in U.S. through tv media, and, whenever possible it's obvious to many that the press remains willing to slant for Arafat. That's too bad. The Holy One of Israel sees it ALL, even the hatreds and envies that lead to bloodshed!! Now it appears the U.N. is becoming even more bold in showing its true colors. How many people in Israel understand there are MANY people here in U.S. that would like us to get out of the UN -- which I have said from 1972 was nothing but the long arm of the now former Communist Russia? That many here deplore the weak-kneed political 'strategies' that keep us from declaring loudly and proudly that we stand behind Israel in her right to her sovereign land with Jerusalem as her Capitol! And moreover, that Israel has the moral obligation and right to defend herself in every needed way, that we should be helping Israel 'as if' it was our own selves in such terrible danger? Perhaps someone can please tell me how Israel can be accused of racism for defending itself against the criminally insane, but Arafat should be found guiltless for teaching children and adults alike to hate the Jew, to equate martyrdom with murder? His promises regarding Israel are sure and come in His uniquely perfect time! My heart will sing in that day, but for now, for a little while longer, there is dust and ashes and mourning. I think of how Bibi is able to encourage men to BE men, and not cowering idiots -- so that we may be found standing and worthy when Hamashiach comes!! I can not see any other who can stand up to the bullies, thugs, and cowards which now occupy positions of power across the world. People are so afraid to be right and LOSE; but somehow it's okay to be wrong and win??? The first time I ever heard him speak, my heart literally SANG from the joy of seeing someone straight and strong, inside and out, hearing true words filled with courage and integrity!
