The Last, Best Cause For the 21st Century
Daniel Paul de Gracia, II 22 Mars 2002
Dear Mr. Netanyahu:
John F. Kennedy once said, "When written in Chinese, the word 'crisis'
is
composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other
represents
opportunity."
Today, the world is faced with a great crisis in the battle for Israel.
There is the danger that a Palestinian state, built on the foundations
of
lawlessness and terror may be established under Yasser Arafat, but
there is
also the opportunity - if only for a season - that an honorable peace
might
be achieved.
In the final analysis, we will all be called to give an account of our
actions and works. It is most insightful to note that we will be
judged
most severely not on the things we did, but on the things we failed to
do.
The United Nations, in failing to support Israel, has brought not only
injustice to the Jews, but dishonor to the world. Whenever an Israeli
is
killed by a Palestinian suicide bomber or gunman, the nations of the
world
who stood against Israel must live with the blood of innocents on their
hands. By calling Israel an "illegal occupier" the United Nations has
legitimized the terror tactics of Islamic fundamentalists, and it has
given
terrorists the perception that they are blameless and invincible. By
drafting a plan to create a Palestinian state side-by-side with Israel,
the
United Nations is now trying to force Israel into a strategically
compromised position where few alternatives for security remain.
We cannot allow the creation of a Palestinian state to occur, today,
tomorrow, or any time in our future. The creation of a Palestinian
state
tramples the innocent blood of so many Israelis - Jew and Arab alike -
who
died simply because some immature, narrow-minded, hate-filled terrorist
could not accept the existence of an Israel in the current world order.
Everything that Israel has fought and died for will be for nothing if
concessions are made to Yasser Arafat. Everything that is true,
everything
that is just, and everything that makes sense will be betrayed if a
Palestinian state is ever created.
It baffles my mind how evil, how immature, and how blatantly
disrespectful
for the value of life Yasser Arafat and his minions are, but it drives
me
into even greater frustration to see that the world declares these
people
innocent.
We must lift the veil of deception from our eyes and fight against this
grave injustice. Are we mice, or are we men? Are we slaves to Islamic
fundamentalism, or are free men, free to live without terror, free to
live
in peace, and free to speak the truth?
The battle against Islamic terrorists is a battle that can and must be
won.
We must commit ourselves, like a great man once said, to say in our
hearts, "We fight for men and women whose poetry is not yet written,
but
which will presently be as enviable and as renowned as any."
To preserve tomorrow, we must act today. Those of us who support
Israel
have the moral high ground. We must not falter or stray from this
course.
We cannot make concessions, nor can we compromise. The only solution
is
absolute victory.
Mr. Netanyahu, I commend your boldness and historical insight. The
tapestry
of our 21st century world is streaked with morally corrupt fibers. We
must
put aside that defective pattern of lies and work to weave a new world
which
is built on the truest, unquestionable convictions of God. Only then
will
men return to the truth and fight for the truth with all of their
hearts.
As a Christian, my love for Yeshua HaMoshiach consumes me to love the
Jewish
people and to always protect Israel. I would be remiss if I did not
say
that I owe all my righteousness, all my honor, and all my courage to
what is
true if it were not for Yeshua.
I stand before you as an epistle to the truth, that truth which comes
from
Yeshua HaMoshiach. Because of this, I know that Israel's eternal
security
is guaranteed ... but in the meantime, we do not have an excuse to
allow
Israel's enemies to erode her day after day.
Let the whole world see the truth in Yeshua, and let us fight valiantly
and
with honor, for we are the children of Abraham ... the most powerful
nation
in history!
Most sincerely yours,
Daniel Paul de Gracia, II
