My ardent support for former Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Angela Davis 12 May 2002
Dear Sirs/Madams:
The purpose of my e-mail is to express my ardent support for former Prime Minister Netanyahu. As an American, and as a Christian and conservative, I can fully understand and support Mr. Netanyahu's position and philosophical views on Israel, the Palestinians and America's own war on terror. During Mr. Netanyahu's term as Prime Minister, it was always refreshing to see him in action not only in Israel but in the international community as well. Mr. Netanyahu is what America would describe as a "no holds barred" leader. Particularly when dealing with Chairman Arafat and issues involving the Holy Land, Mr. Netanyahu exercised a "take no prisoners" approach. His beliefs are what they are and rightly so. Therefore, he could not be intimidated or otherwise persuaded to cave in on any position in which he held strong convictions against. Clearly, whether one is a supporter of Mr. Netanyahu or not, one cannot deny that he is a man of great character, guided by his principles rather than public image or approval and as such is deserving of the respect that he enjoys in Israel and throughout the world.
I was always impressed on the occasions of "peace talks" hosted by President Clinton, between the former Prime Minister and Chairman Arafat, when Mr. Netanyahu, or "Bibi" (as American supporters have joined in affectionate reference), was unbending to any international pressures and even pressures from the Clinton Administration to make concessions towards Chairman Arafat. Mr. Netanyahu's presence was during that time and still is commanding.
Thank you so much for your site. I have always wanted to express my support for the former Prime Minister.
