The polls averages from www.bhirot2009.co.il suggest a narrowing of the gap between the right wing and left wing blocks although the right wing block led by the Likud continues to lead 62-58. The polls average was done for 4 polls conducted between December 14 and 20 by Maariv, Channel 2 and Mishal Ham.

Maariv's poll published on December 19, 2008 suggests a tie between the Likud and Kadima although in Israel the significance is not only which party is the biggest but who has a better chance of forming a coalition government and in this poll the right wing block still has a majority of 61 seats to the left wing's 59 seats.
The number in the brackets is the outcome in the last poll taken by Maariv (10 of December).
