Recent polls from Israel: The Likud maintains its commanding position after the primary elections
December 18, 2008
All of the polls that were published last weekend showed that the Likud party under former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to hold a commanding position in towards the upcoming elections. All of the polls put the Likud above 31 seats in the Knesset and all of the polls project that the right wing (right wing plus the religious parties) parties have a majority in the 120 seat Knesset. If this remains so, then it is most likely that only Netanyahu will be able to form the next coalition government. Foreign Affairs Minster Tzipi Livni's party seems to continue it downward trend as the Labor party headed by Defense Minister Ehud Barak seems to have climbed back to two digit numbers after earlier polls have shown that labor is declining to as low as 7 seats.
