An Urgent Message From Yamin Israel

An Urgent Message From Yamin Israel

By Prof. Paul Eidelberg

In view of the fact that Ariel Sharon

1) advocates a Palestinian state;

2) appointed Shimon Peres as Foreign Minister;

3) opposes abrogation of the Oslo and Wye agreements;

4) refuses to destroy the PLO-Palestinian Authority and opposes a policy of zero tolerance for Arab terrorists;

5) publicly expressed admiration of the Palestinians in his April 13, 2001 interview with Ha’aretz;

6) supported a policy of “Judea First”;

7) opposes any amendment of the “grandfather clause” of the Law of Return, which has enabled some 300,000 gentiles to enter Israel;

8) wants to maintain government control of the economy;

9) is supported by the leftist media over Netanyahu

10) will form another government of national unity if re-elected, when it should be possible, with 40 Likud Knesset Members, to form a stable a Likud-led government ----

in view of all these considerations, we must conclude that Sharon is an out and out LEFTIST!

This makes him far more dangerous than Netanyahu (of whom the present writer has been a critic even before Bibi became chairman of the Likud Party in March 1993, hence before Oslo).

But are other and more subtle conclusions that must be drawn.

When the people voted for Ariel Sharon over Ehud Barak in the February 6, 2001 prime ministerial election, their choice in the election, unbeknownst to themselves, was between two Leftists!

However, and what is even more important to bear in mind, that election and its resulting government was foisted on the people because of Israel’s grotesque system of government, which remains in place today and which will continue to corrupt Israeli politics and thwart the will of the Jewish people.

If you want to save Israel, do everything in your power to bring about two basisc refroms:

1) regional elections for the Knesset to make MKs individually accountable to the voters, and

2) replace multi-party cabinet government with a Presidential system in which no member of the President’s cabinet can be a member of the Legislature.
