| Who is gowing and who is dying? Yossi Seder Boston MA USA (29 Jul 2001) The Palestinians are winning big and Israel is losing big. Lets asses the victories the Palestinians have achieved in the last year on top of the victories they achieved during the Oslo years. Palestinian short-term victories: 1. De-Facto Freeze of all Jewish communities in YESHA by waging a daily live war against the Jewish communities(just like Daud Katoub mentioned) 2. Devestating the Jewish State's economy (the Jewish State's economic growth over the last year has been at just 1%; Israel has no tourist industry and no one will invest in a weak and unstable nation) 3. Immigration of Russian immigrants is dropping due to the ongoing Palestinian war. 4. The nationalization of the enormous Palestinian community in the Jewish State's 1948 borders(the Israeli Arabs have become the chaffeurs for the Palestinian suicide bombers) 5. World demands to force foreign soldiers in the Land of Israel(for the first time the Palestinians have managed to use their strength in getting the world to force upon Israel foreign soldiers; foriegn soldiers will insure that the Palestinians will have continous protection of their bases from where they attack the Jewish nation) Now that the Palestinians have achieved these short-term victories right away at the beginning of their war(the most important victory for them being the de-facto freeze on all Jewish communities in YESHA) they can take their time to achieve their long-term goals(just like Daud Katoub said). Long term Palestinian goals(these goals may take over 100 years or even hundereds of years or they may take less than 50 years): 1. "The Al Aksa intifada is the shortest route to achieve the Palestinians long-tem goals." -If the Palestinians can force the Jewish people to begin fleaing YESHA (both civilians and soldiers) then the long-term victory for the Palestinians to bring about the destruction of Israel will be enormous. This will boost significantly the confidence of the Palestinians in being able to defeat Israel by force through guerilla warefare. If the Palestinians would get YESHA by agreement rather than by warfare then they would lost the chance of being able to defeat Israel by force. If the Palestinians defeated Israel through the use of force in YESHA; it would be allot easier for them to defeat the rest of 1948 Israel by force. 2. Palestinian refugees - Forcing Israel to accept unconditionally all Palestinian immigrants into 1948 Israel.(Israel already has an enormous Palestinian population in 1948 Israel...20% of the Jewish nation's vote. Nothing in Israel is being done to take away the right of citizenship from this population. While the Palestinians are freezing Jewish communities by use of warfare Palestinians communities are expanding throughout all the Land of Israel by claiming citizenship). 3. Long-term guerilla warfare. (The Palestinians make no secret on how they will destroy the Jewish State. They say openly they will use long-term gueilla warfare to eventually force the Jewish State to collapse. This is how the the Arab population in Palestine defeated the crusades. The reason the Palestinians can wage this kind of warfare and Israel can do nothing about it is because the enormous Palestinian population in the Land of Israel and the division the Israeli Left has created in the country. |
