Why the Israelis are losing
Bonnie Altman 16 May 2002
One of the essential keys to negotiating is knowing your Best
Alternative
To a Negotiated Agreement (BATNA) and negotiating by those terms.
Israel
is not doing that at all, and is instead reacting. Arafat, on the
other
hand, has been following his BATNA for years: terror. Until we as a
people
and as a nation, come up with and use our BATNA, in all matters, we
will
continue using the political and logistical fight. It is not a matter
of
ideology, but of practicality and survival.
Not only must we use our own BATNA, but we must convince the Arabs that
using their BATNA is no good to them. If that takes killing terrorists
in
public, hangings, or deportation, burying them in pig skin - so be it.
Convince them that terror is not useful, and they will give it up.
One note of congratulations: When Israel refused to cooperate with the
UN
investigation into the fabricated slaughter in Jenin, she showed
brevity
and logic. The Goyim can not hang the Jewish people unless we hand
them
the noose. Bravo! Keep thinking that way, and we WILL prevail. (See
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand) They need our cooperation in order to
vilify
us. Don't cooperate, and they won't succeed.
