World Pressure on Israel.
Lorin Gilbert 29 May 2002
Everyone knows that war is hell, but there is something worse, that is
a
perpetual war.
Why has the obvious eluded so many leaders , especially in the USA and
Israel. When two cultures with very different religious beliefs want
the
same territory and both groups believe they have a way to be the
victors
and both know that their beliefs and life styles will not allow them to
share the same land, there can never be peace.
Somebody must have the upper hand first, there must be at least one
side that admits defeat and will accept an offer because there is no
other choice.
Israel has the power to win a war and should have done it years ago.
The
problem is that due to pressure from other contries there is always a
temporary peace worked out in good faith . This gives time for both
sides to regroup and build for the next wave of violence. In essence a
"never ending war".
If Israel does not have the true belief that this
land is rightfully theirs and promised by G-d then why not give just
give them what the world says to give the Palestinians. Do it now and
and ask the USA to help with some guaratees.
Eventually, of course the
arabs will overcome and Israel will not be a Jewish State. If however,
Israeli's really believe it is their holy right then why not have some
faith, certainly the Palestinians do, and fight back. The USA will have
no choice but stand by and try to find a diplomatic end to it and keep
the other countries out of it. The real question is , Does Israel
really
have enough faith to stay or perhaps this generation like so many in
the
past will be kicked out once again until another generation is ready.
True peace requires strength and true faith,
